The legendary rice variety "Kame-no-o" once faced extinction due to its sensitivity to chemical fertilizers and the extreme difficulty of its cultivation. However, the renowned Tochigi brewery "Senkin" has revived the "Original Seed (Gengenshu)"—restoring its lost DNA—and carefully cultivated it using the ancient wisdom of organic farming.

As the ancestor of Koshihikari and Sasanishiki, it is the true foundation of Japanese rice. Grown without chemical fertilizers, it harnesses the inherent power of the soil.

The Perfect Harmony: Pairing with "Endangered Teas" The unique character of this rice is beautifully enhanced by "Endangered Teas," which, like this rice, are vanishing from Japan’s traditional Satoyama landscapes.
